Registration is now open for our upcoming NBIC Technical Module ' Biofilm Characterisation through Precision and 'Omics Techniques'.

This training course is open to NBIC BITE students and industry members and industry organisations outside the NBIC membership!

Get ready for a hands-on week diving into the world of biofilm characterisation using cutting-edge ‘omics and precision techniques!  The team of lecturers and facilitators running this module are extremely knowledgeable and experienced in biofilms and the use of different precision bioscience and multi-omics approaches.

During the week, you will: 

• Sample and grow biofilm cultures
• Extract and QC DNA from biofilms
• Sequence DNA  
• Explore genomes and metagenomes using bioinformatics tools
• Tour state-of-the-art imaging facilities at Southampton’s Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences 

Hear from guest lecturers who use ‘omics techniques in their research, spanning numerous sectors. They will share how they use these tools across different sectors and give you fresh ideas to apply to your own work. 

Collaborate and Connect 
Wrap up the week with a dynamic panel discussion to share ideas with other course participants and identify ways to integrate ‘omics and precision bioscience methods into your projects and organisation’s workflows. 

Registration Fee 
Registration includes attendance to all lectures and demonstrations, access to course materials, lunches and networking events including the official course dinner.  
Discounted industry membership registration fee £2,000, *Non-Members £2,300.
